What is Skin Camouflage?

Also known as skin color tattooing or camouflage tattooing, scar camouflage is a needle and pigment technique that blends scars, stretch marks, and vitiligo into the surrounding natural skin using permanent makeup pigments.

At Curaçao Skin Camouflage we will custom-make your skin color with ink on the day of your appointment. Each stretch mark or scar will be filled with “your” skin color pigments. The healing process will take 3 to 4 weeks. Once healed, the treated area will “blend in” with the surrounding area and not be visible. The result is permanent! Usually between two to four (2 - 4) sessions are needed while most clients will need just two (2). It all depends on the skin type and other factors that will be discussed during your first consultation.

Does Skin Camouflage hurt?

No, it does not hurt. You might feel slight discomfort during the first few minutes. Most clients become comfortable minutes into the treatment. You can immediately return to your life routine after the procedure, following the after-care instructions.

What to avoid after  Skin Camouflage?

  • No tight clothing for the next 2 - 3 days.

  • No scratching or peeling to prevent infection or discoloration.

  • No excessive sweating for 7 days. Moderate exercise is ok after 2 days.

  • No exposing the area to the full water pressure of the shower for 7 days.

  • No tanning and swimming for 40 days. Stick to a quick rinse in the shower.

  • No sunscreen, self-tanning, or any cream that contains Vitamin D for 40 days.

  • No perfume or deodorant near or on the treated area.

What to expect after treatment?

After the procedure, you may experience some mild irritation, redness, and swelling, which can last up to one week. This is totally normal and part of the process. During the third week, the treated area will slightly get darker. NO WORRIES, this is normal. It is part of the healing process. After this phase, you will begin to see the result of your treatment. Depending on your skin type and treated area, you should have a good visible indication of your final result between three (3) to twelve (12) weeks.

A follow-up consultation after 45 days of your treatment will be booked to assess if you may need a minor touch-up.
